My current read is ‘Grit’ by Angela Duckworth. How Interest, Purpose, Intentional Practice, and Hope can foster the grittiness that each of us holds the ability to develop. • • If you’re looking for some inspiration and/or direction on how to continually improve, I would 11/10 recommend ‼️#grit

This morning I was thinking about how I’ve prioritized my spare time this past year. Lots of hours cooking (honestly like 2 hours a day), training for whatever’s next, traveling, family, friends, and sometimes hours not prioritizing my time the best... But every year it feels like there is less and less spare time and prioritizing becomes THAT much more important. • • You’d be amazed at the things you can accomplish if you hone in and prioritize your time. Are you looking for balance? Training for a marathon? Hoping to cook more of your own food? Looking for just 15 minutes a day to yourself? I promise you can do it and would suggest a little time for self reflection and honesty. ☺️What is it that you want to accomplish before the end of the year?

! Back in the saddle, y’all ! . . Coming back from injury can be a little scary as we get older.. but taking those first steps of getting back into an activity or routine it is the hardest part. Once you start, you’ll be reminded of how good it feels just to MOVE 🥰 That being said, Happy Saturday!! I hope you all can spend a piece your weekend doing the thing that moves you (literally ☺️)

Good morning and Happy Monday! 🌻The last few weeks I’ve been starting my mornings with this uber nutrient-dense, gut healthy, green smoothie. . . A simple mix of greens, banana, green apple, ginger, lemon, and water has been a new favorite addition to my morning routine ☺️ Recipe is 👇🏻and blog post is coming 🔜 . . 1 C Kale🥬 . 1 C Spinach🥬 . 1/2 C water and blend! . 1 Green Apple🍏 . 1 Banana🍌 . Juice from 2 lemons🍋🍋 . 4-5 ice cubes . 1 tsp of ground ginger and Blend!

Sunday shower thoughts 💭(hence the towel) . . An example that weight isn’t everything to your well-being! . . I was always self-conscious about my weight but here we go.. Full disclosure❗️I am 5’6” and the photo on the left is this morning, weighing 145 after a month of not exercising due to my arm injuries. I was dreading the scale because my pants have been fitting a little tighter and Ive been feeling blobby and lethargic after not being able to work out for so long. . . 👉🏻swipe right to a couple of months ago where I weighed 147 during my 1/2 marathon training feeling tight 🤙🏻. You may not be able to see much of a difference, but what’s important is feeling a difference. . . I know how difficult it can be to pretend like the weight on the scale doesn’t impact you, but what’s truly important is how you feel. After feeling self-conscious about that number for so long, I’ve been able to find acceptance these last few years. I will probably never weigh less than a certain weight (for me that’s 140) and I’m COMPLETELY cool it knowing that I can feel my best at the weight that’s best for me . 🤷🏼‍♀️ . . I hope that anyone feeling defeated by the scale or stressed about not meeting his/her goals can focus more on the feeling of health. We are all SO. DIFFERENT. and need to take the time to learn where and how we thrive 💪🏻

It’s officially been two weeks since I broke my wrist, and while I’ve gotten a little stir crazy, today I’m incredibly thankful to be on the other side of recovery (swipe right for post-surgery Friday 😂) . . Two weeks ago I fractured my left radius near my wrist and my right radial head near my elbow from a bike fall in the city 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s been humbling as someone who has always been fairly healthy and stubbornly independent, but I am SO happy to have felt a little better each day and to have had the incredibly genuine care from The UPenn Hospitals. . . So long story short- Happy Sunday! ☀️ Cheers to health, Cheers to those who love and care for us, and Cheers to our bodies for all their capabilities
